Dear Grad Committees,
Aberdeen Mall is excited to announce our fourth annual fundraising event in support of a valued community partner, and we would love to see the graduating classes of 2026 take part.
This initiative will be a Wish List Drive for the BGC Kamloops Necessity Nook, with each secondary school in the district collecting designated items. To recognize your efforts:
- The school collecting the greatest number of items will receive $1,000 in Aberdeen Mall Gift Cards for their graduation festivities.
- Second place will receive $500 in gift cards.
- Every participating school will receive $100 in gift cards as a thank you.
The main collection event will take place at Aberdeen Mall on Saturday, March 7th, from 10am to 1pm. The BGC Kamloops team will be onsite to gather donations and transport them the same day.
We encourage your group to collect items in advance and bring them to the mall on March 7th. Successful strategies for pre-collection from last year included:
- Setting up collection boxes at school
- Gathering items at grad meetings or school events
- Hosting collection tables outside grocery stores
- Organizing neighborhood Wish List Drives (much like the Food Bank’s spring campaign)
Aberdeen Mall will promote the event city‑wide, encouraging the community to donate in the name of the school of their choice.
We kindly ask for your school’s commitment by Monday, February 9th, 2026.
