Maintenance Technician
Location: Aberdeen Mall – Kamloops, British Columbia
Reports To: Operations Supervisor
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts (morning, afternoon, evening and weekends) 40 hours/week
General Description: This is a full-time position responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and upkeep of the Shopping Centre.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform preventative and minor maintenance on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and other equipment as required
· Grass cutting and minor landscaping work, including irrigation systems
· Snow removal from sidewalks & entrances using manual and power equipment
· Assist in providing basic first aid in medical emergencies and Respond to emergency situations as required (i.e. power outage, fire, etc.)
· Set-up & take-down of mall displays and décor
· Perform minor repairs on lights, doors, locks, washroom fixtures, drywall, paint, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, concrete and asphalt and other areas/equipment as required to maintain the health and safety standards
· Keep all vehicles and equipment clean and regularly maintained.
· Maintain the upkeep of all mechanical and electrical rooms.
· Inspect & maintain the operation of fire alarm and building automation systems.
· Various other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Knowledge/Skills/Competences:
· Secondary School Diploma
· Ability to operate equipment and hand-power tools applicable to the role including but not limited to tractor, lawnmower, snowblower, trimmer, etc.
· Ability to work independently and with other team members as necessary
· Experience in minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing, drywall and painting Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Flexibility and Adaptability
· Experience in operation & maintenance of the following systems: HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, sprinklers.
· Physical Requirements
- Regularly move heavy objects over 30lbs.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements
- Work at heights greater than 10 feet
- Climb ladders and stairs to reach work areas
· Must be able to provide clear criminal record check
· Must have valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
· Must have valid BC Level 1 First Aid
